SRS: 6th day after surgery
HECKING GOSH! Real food! Shower! The Reveal!
Ok, I wasn't expecting that they came 8:30 am to take the package away, surgeon removing it and checking the vagina with speculum briefly while specialist nurse supported and took me to shower afterwards. It happened on "bed" designed to showers, so, I was able to be mostly horizontal while washing myself. Felt really good to finally get that sweat properly away. It has been very busy around here as the nurse should have helped me with the first cleanup of the pussy, as I don't even have the things for it, or then I just misunderstood. She did bring written instructions how to do it however, which are simple enough that I might be able to do it by myself without showing first.
As the reveal was after the breakfast the first real food was lunch. It wasn't amazing as a dish but when you have eaten just liquid things for a week, even shitty (proper) hospital food starts to be really good. It was mashed potatoes, some sausages and grilled zucchini with some sauce. It has been kept warm for a While so especially the mashed potatoes weren't amazing anymore but otherwise nice. Dinner was rice porridge with some berry soup to mix with if you want and banana. Evening snack was just sandwich with cheese and tomatoes (gosh it tasted so good for some reason), yoghurt and coffee. Looking forward tomorrow's food~
This is bit TMI but the pussy is quite swollen, obviously, and it's still dripping blood a tiny bit. Looked at it just a moment ago and the pussy is just one bloody stripe in there because of the swollen parts around it. Next to the outer labia there's cigar-like swollen parts, one on each side, which hides the pussy almost completely. It also feels like that, didn't wonder anymore after I saw it.
During the day the physiotherapist paid a visit again, this time with some walker thingy. So I was able to get myself up from the bed three times and then took less than 10 meter long walk and came back to my bed. It was interesting to notice that yeah, my body felt heavy but muscles were there, it wasn't hard to move and I had plenty of stamina, but I felt little dizzy. I had to be really careful that I didn't fall backwards, which is why we didn't take longer walk. But I understood that it was the problem and took myself completely horizontal for the rest of the day when I wasn't eating or doing something else requiring sitting-like position, and turned around in my bed a bit while reading as that is allowed now and when I took evening stroll with nurse, we walked to the hallway, there a bit and came back, totalling for maybe 40 meters. Much more anyway. So my brain was actually able to orient itself with that, which is nice. I also got up from the bed from the flat position and not from the top-end lifted position and it went just as well, just had to do the getting up slowly so I don't break anything.
I also heard that they are planning to push me home day after tomorrow. Quite a bit shorter time in hospital than what I expected. Well, whatever, when I'm able enough it's just easier to push me away from here. I still wonder if the surgeon and specialist nurse agrees with that, I understood that the surgeon will now personally monitor my recovery for some days. Well, as long as they are sure that I'm able to sit in train for 1.5-2 hours on ring pillow and after that walk ~400m to home, works for me. I'm quite sure I would be able to survive with this situation at home already. I also need to clarify how much they expect me to get help from my friends, like, am I allowed to go to grocery shopping at all? Though food is surprisingly heavy, if I get 2kg lifting restriction, that would make grocery shopping much harder. The more annoying restriction I have currently is that I can't do straining motions like putting socks on. When you live alone, that's really a game changer, I can't ask my friend to come and put socks to my feet every day! I need to recover here enough that they can at least lift the restriction that much that particular activity is allowed, to be able to get clothes on. Well, time will tell and I'm sure they as well when I ask.
I might need to go to buy some different kind of panties so I can use high-absorbent pads. Those might be needed soon if my pussy still drips blood. I still need pads with my thongs I think, especially after getting rid of my catheter. Even if I have enough muscle control to handle it 99.99% of the time, the 0.01% is still very significant amount, and it would be nice to not drip some pee into my panties. Urinary incontinence is a thing with transwomen after all. I also think I need to postpone the ordering new panties just a bit.
Well, whatever, I don't have anything to say to how long I will be here or what happens next etc. Time will tell and I act accordingly. I'm feeling quite good already after all.
'Til next time~ 💜
