After Tracon
Tracon is now behind from my part. I was the long-range driver of the guests of honor and responsible of the networking. Both of the GoH's are now either left the country or in capital area waiting for their return flight.
The start of the con was chaos. Fortunately we got it sorted out mostly within Friday. And, it was first time I wore skirt, corset, girly V-neckline shirt and makeup in public. And I enjoyed very much. My dear friend, who I was finally able to see again in person after many years, applied makeup for me for first day and gave me some of the products she used to me so I was able to apply it by myself for the second day. And it seems I haven't forgot everything in 7 years. I found it funny that people didn't really asked me much about my looks, but how I can wear the corset, especially for so long times. As it is just matter of getting used to it and you need to "run it in" so the corset will take shape according to your body and to be comfortable even after 10 hours of continuous use. Although I tightened it bit too much in both days. But I did manage as I have used the corset at home to get used to it again. I also got lots of praises and as I'm not used to them, it felt weird but also good at the same time.
During the convention I was mostly sitting in the tech room or in main auditorium. Although I was still somehow able to get ~9000 steps on Friday and ~7000 steps on Saturday and Sunday. I monitored two audience votes and we got much more votes than in previous years with SMS voting! Although they changed plans with the other winner announcement so I announced only the audience's favorite AMV.
After the con, was the dead dog party. It was starting very typically for me as I rarely find a comfy place to be. I was considering leaving already when the guests of honor joined the party. I ended up talking with one of them for couple of hours, and it seems I haven't talked about this whole process and what goes around in my mind enough yet. Although we did talk about less serious stuff as well, like pets. But talking about this in person with someone helps much more than just chatting in IRC or writing to this blog.
One of the GoH's flight departed really early this morning, so we had to start driving at 4am. And because of that, I decided to stay awake those couple of hours in between as it was around midnight when I got back home from dead dog. My sleeping haven't been exactly good lately as some flu tries to attack me so I didn't want to risk it. But, after we got back from airport, we went to pick up our other GoH and went to see Iittala glass factory, Kultasuklaa chocolate factory, the HΓ€me Castle and the beautiful landscape of Aulanko. Afterwards excellent (late) lunch at Popino and rest of the trip to the Helsinki.
After getting back to Tampere around 9pm, I felt bit empty inside. Last weekend meant much to me. Especially the talks with one of the GoH's. I have more confidence to express myself like I want. I even used skirt today with more "normal" clothes and I'm planning to use these same clothes tomorrow at work and gradually step forward from there.
