Wandering thoughts 6

Bit over a week from last post. 25th day of HRT, laser, convention and drinking. So, it's been bit over three weeks from the start of HRT. Spironolactones dosage was raised to 75 mg on thursday and I saw my occupational doctor on wednesday, and I'm going to see neurologist on next wednesday. When I told to my "own doctor" about how I have felt, she measured my blood pressure, 112/76, and told me that if it takes long to get appointment for neurologist, I can take only half tablet of orloc, my migraine med which is interfering with spironolactone. Well, I tried thursday and thought that yeah, I'm gonna eat only 2,5mg of orloc starting from now. And my feeling got better. I'm not sure about migraine, my auras has been bit on-off lately, at some point there is lots of them, at other none. But, I think the whole migraine inhibitor mixture needs tuning, so.. Well, I will hear on wednesday what the neurologist says. My hands has been shakier again for some reaso

Start of HRT: Day 16

Another pause to writing, as things are pretty much normalized. I feel "normal", I don't notice anything particular in a way or another. Only thing which has changed is that I'm not feeling constantly cold. But that might be due outside temperature fluctuations so heating might do bit too much work at times. Or that the spironolactone is doing things and my body has started to consume my muscles. Dunno, that is pretty much only thing which has changed. I will rise the dosage of spironolactone again on thursday or so, so week and half with current dosage and another week and a half with 75mg. And in the start of April, to 100mg, like I have written before. That is pretty much the original schedule of the dosage rise, there is just couple of lower steps more so my body has more time to adjust. I'm going to see my occupational doctor on wednesday so I could get to the neurologist. Well, it's been 2 years I last time saw neurologist so it would be clever anyway.

Start of HRT: Days 9-12

Little pause to writing. There wasn't practically anything to write about on friday and saturday, yesterday one of my good friends visited and today time to try 50mg of spironolactone again. So, Friday was quite dull day, I was mostly trying to concentrate at work thanks to the dosage rise of estrogen. I got home quite late thanks to that and watched some anime and played some GW2 and went to sleep. Saturday was same kind of story, I just watched anime and played GW2. Although, just before going to sleep, I got hot waves. Which was kinda interesting but it's most likely due dosage change. And I was way too sleepy to write to here about it right away. Yesterday was quite lazy day as well. My good friend visited me as she was checking one apartment nearby so it was easier to sleep here than try to find public transport option back where she lives currently. Had nice chat during the evening, which was welcome to the dull weekend I was having. Today, I tried what will happen

Start of HRT: Day 8

Yup, I can clearly feel the dosage raise. It was hard to concentrate at work because of it. I have been very slow in general today, so I thought that fuck it and took 2h flex hour minus. This is why I have the flex hours in a first place! Today was international women's day and there was some tosca buns and chocolate at afternoon coffee at work. Those were actually quite good. And it is nice that this kind of things happens at work. At least I appreciated it although when I thought about it at work I feel being so much in the middle that I'm not either. But that will change slowly so patience is a virtue. And patience I have. So, medication Works™ and things roll on. More tomorrow with hopefully better functioning brains.

Start of HRT: Day 7

One week already. Tomorrow comes first dosage rise, estrogen from 25 to 50 micrograms. I wonder what kind of feeling it will cause. Spironolactone hasn't cause more problems and things start to roll. Although I can feel that I eat two different meds which affects to blood pressure... Well, I just have to be carefull when I get up and so. I'm starting to sleep better. And for some reason wake up more tired. That might be caused by years of bad sleep. But I feel more energetic and full day at work hasn't felt bad at all. I don't have to think much what to do, which is awesome! I got random allergic attack out from nowhere. Red eyes and running nose. Only things I could have had it was from someone owning cat and being near at me in bus when coming home or chocolate or salty liquorice in that chocolate. Fortunately the anti-allergy meds kick in rather quickly. But I have to keep eyes out for that, I don't want any other allergies I have already and I would rather g

Start of HRT: Day 6

Better day than yesterday. Today was also first day of 100% contract in work after half a year ( #14 ). I woke up bit late, no wonder, yesterday was bit of a stretch to me. In the morning I was not so sure about my feeling so I decided to stay home and do work remotely. I also visited grocery store and pharmacy, to get those lower dosage spironolactone and some other things I was lacking. And I laughed the instructions doctor wrote for the med: "1 tablet once a day. Carefully lift dose to 100mg once a day" ("1 tabletti kerran päivässä. Annosnosto varovasti asti 100mg kerran päivässä" in finnish). How do you define "carefully"? :D Well, I will try with this dosage for 2 weeks, then get it to 50 mg for another 2 weeks, 75mg after that for 2 weeks and if I'm still in good shape, to the 100mg. Depends how I react so we will see. Doctor said "week or two" in phone after all. My muscles are aching a bit. I wonder what (or which) causes that. I

Start of HRT: Day 5

What a day. I called to hormone clinic (or to their robot) in the morning as I didn't want to try if same thing happens again what happened in the weekend. Couple of hours later they called back and said that yeah, this needs doctors opinion, as it was nurse who called, the robot just received callback request. Couple of hours later doctor called (it was different who I saw on last tuesday though) and said that let's try with lower dosage at first. So she wrote 25 mg spironolactone to ease out the start even more. I'm hoping it will help, it wouldn't be first time I need longer time ramping up the dosage. It was same story with lamotrigin as well. My feeling was bit bad in the morning so I stayed home, doing work remotely. Although, it was still bit of a pain. But it was good thing that I did, because random diarrhea attacked. I wonder where that came from or is it just some reaction to the new medication? Maybe. It got me really tired and cold so I went to bed around

Start of HRT: Day 3 and 4

What a weekend. Yesterday was some dining and bar hanging and dancing, hence no blog post, and today visiting parents. So, yesterday we had old friends dining meeting at Maruseki, for a first time in years. Had good time and some of the people continued to Teerenpeli to drink some more and continue talking. After that, all the other people scattered and I was left with Certain Someone, and we found ourselves dancing in Ilona. Would have had excellent time without HRT. The medication started to act up and I got at least some degree of hyperkalemia. So, sitting still and around 100 bpm heart rate. It was bit better if I did something, which would get heart rate into those readings. I also had 3 restaurant doses of alcohol during the evening, so not much at all but more than I have planned. And at rate that previous has burned already when I took next one so I wasn't even tipsy in any point. Had good time anyway, it has been ages when I was out having fun. The Certain Someone also

Start of HRT: Day 2

Today was bit better day than yesterday. I slept better although to bit too late. Everything has been more "normal". I still have extensive amount of auras in my vision, which are mostly in form of afterimage-kindof. But not as much as yesterday. I'm also feeling tipsy but not that much than yesterday. I don't dare to touch any alcohol yet, though. My heart rate was better today, I looked back a bit, week or two, and my resting heart rate has been less than 70 quite consistently. Today, it has been around 70, bit over or below. Well, HRT is quite stressful for body at first as everything is going upside down so no wonder. I'm giving hints at work, to see how people react. I'm not surprised that for most people my hints was just confusing, but evenings duty officer (päivystäjä in finnish) was bit sharper so I told more to him. I'm planning to tell in one internal channel about this on monday, as one other duty officer, who has seen me outside work and k

Start of HRT: Day 1

I'm writing up some of my feeling and such in the start HRT for later reference because of my migraine and potassium and so. So, after going to blood tests 7:45 in the morning (5 tubes of blood -_-), I took the patch and sticked it to the lower stomach according to instructions, which were easy enough. After that some breakfast and the anti-androgen. I'm not sure how fast the patch should give first impressions, but I got them in like 10 minutes or so. I thought it was because of food, but I'm still having the same feeling, so it must be caused by the patch. It's like being little bit hyper but not much. Or tipsy. Head feels light. The sensation is very much like which I had last july ( #2 ), just very much milder. The patch itself is very small and translucent, about a little finger nail sized. It feels funny, like constant little tingling. And I'm nervous that it stays in place. I notice now that the placement isn't very good, but, it will get changed on m
